How the IKEA Family credit card works

Application FAQs

  • How does my IKEA Family credit card work?

The IKEA Family credit card is a way for you to borrow money. You can use it to buy things up to an agreed limit, then pay later – either in one go, or bit by bit.

  • I’m already an IKEA Home card customer, can I apply?

Yes, you can. As an IKEA Home card customer, you can already use your store card at IKEA. When you become an IKEA Family credit card customer, you’ll also get these benefits:

    • You can spend in IKEA and other retailers
    • Credit limit available £250 - £7500 (subject to credit decisioning and affordability)
    • 0% interest instalment plans on eligible transactions (payments of 3, 10, 20 months)
    • Rewards from IKEA Family and benefits
    • Instant spend (using the virtual card when added to Apple Pay or Google Pay)
    • Up to 56 days interest free.

Applications are subject to credit decisioning and affordability. You’ll also manage your account online though the IKEA Financial Services app.

Getting the IKEA Family credit card won’t change anything with your IKEA Home card – you can still use it to purchase in IKEA.

To apply, download the IKEA Financial Services app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.

  • How do I apply?

This is an online product; you can only apply and manage your account digitally by downloading the IKEA Financial Services mobile app from the Apple or Google play stores.

  • How long will it take?

It takes less than 10 minutes to check your eligibility and apply for the IKEA Family credit card by downloading the IKEA Financial Services mobile app from the Apple or Google play stores. If you are approved, your card could wing its way to you in 5-7 working days, and you’ll have a virtual card to use straight away.

Sometimes we may need to make additional checks which can take up to 3 days, if this happens, we’ll let you know.

  • Do I have to be an IKEA Family member to apply?

Yes. When you apply, you can link to an existing IKEA Family member account, or you can apply to become an IKEA Family member.

  • I have a problem with my IKEA Family details, who should I contact?
