  • Where can I use my IKEA Family credit card?

    Our IKEA Family credit cards are Mastercard, so you can use them almost everywhere:

    • Buy things online – wherever you see the Mastercard sign.
    • Buy things in-store – it’s contactless, so just tap to pay or enter your PIN when requested.
    • Take cash out of cash machines – you’ll be charged a fee to do so, though.

    Want to use your card abroad?

    • You can use your card worldwide wherever you see the Mastercard sign.
    • When you return home, your credit card statement will show what you bought and how much cash you took out – in local currency, plus the cost exchanged into pounds.
    • The IKEA Family credit card will charge a non-sterling transaction fee of 2.75% of the transaction.

    Your card is for personal use only and shouldn't be used for business. You also can't use it for gambling, except to buy lottery tickets in a shop. It can't be used to buy digital or cryptocurrency either.

  • Why do I need to authorise a purchase?

    You’ll need to authorise some purchases using Secure Customer Authentication (SCA), by logging into your account on the IKEA Financial Services mobile app using your passcode. This prevents unauthorised transactions, protects your account, and helps prevent accidental or malicious purchases. 

    When authorisation is needed for a purchase you’ll get a notification from the IKEA Financial Services mobile app, which will take you to your account to log in and accept or decline the purchase.

  • Do I have a limit for contactless transactions?

    Contactless payments have limits and occasional checks to help keep your account safe. When needed, you’ll be asked to enter your PIN.

  • I don't recognise a transaction on my account, what should I do?

    If you spot a transaction you don't recognise, don't worry, we're here to help you.

    • Check the date, time, and location of the transaction to see if any of the details are familiar to you.
    • Is it a subscription? Some streaming services or gyms can take a payment once a free trial end. Contact the service provider first to discuss the transaction.
    • Some retailers may use a different name they are not normally known as. Search online to check the name on the transaction.

    If you still think the transaction is suspicious, let us know by logging on to your account the IKEA Financial Services mobile app, choose the transaction you want to dispute and tap the "Dispute Transaction" button.

    You'll be directed to our dispute portal to provide any required documents and information.

  • I have a problem with something I’ve bought

    If there's an issue with something you've bought using the IKEA Family credit card where possible, try and speak to the retailer to start with, they may be able to resolve your issue.

    If you haven’t been able to resolve things with the retailer, in the IKEA Financial Services mobile app, log in to your account, choose the transaction of the item you have a problem with and tap the "Dispute Transaction" button.

    You'll be directed to our dispute portal to provide any required documents and information.

    In some circumstances you may be able to make a claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Card Act 1974. You can find out more here

    Please keep making your monthly payments. If you don’t, you may get late payment fees, and it could impact your credit file.

  • I think I’ve been scammed

    If you think you may have been scammed or think you've been targeted by financial criminals.

    Get in touch by logging on to the IKEA Financial Services mobile app, choose the transaction and tap the 'Dispute Transaction' button.

    You'll be directed to our dispute portal to provide any required documents and information.

    If you've received a potential scam message or computer virus but no money has been lost you can report it on the actionfraud.police.uk website.

  • I am going abroad. Will I be able to use my card?

  • Can I block my spending in certain retailers/shops or countries?

    You can’t choose which countries to stop spending, however Mastercard automatically blocks transactions in sanctioned countries. Since this list can change, you can find the most up-to-date list online. https://ofac.treasury.gov/sanctions-programs-and-country-information
